Tokyo Metropolitan University's Promotion of Accepting Overseas Students Undertaking Advanced Research

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government in 2008 set up the Asian Human Resources Fund to supplement its policy of contributing toward the education of personnel who will carry Asia's future. Using this fund, the Tokyo Metropolitan University started accepting highly talented students from Asia in the 2008 academic year, and through research into finding solutions for Asian development and urban problems, carries out human development training.

Research into Nationalism in Contemporary Vietnam Historical Discourses from Anthropology Perspective -Recently we witness the birthing of many historical discourses, which relate with nationalism in many aspects of it in Vietnam. And then, many researchers have studied about the Vietnam historical discourses, but almost all of them have chosen archival materials as main research materials to conduct their research about Vietnam (especially the past of Vietnam). Our research mainly focuses on studying contemporary dimension of this issue bbasically by fieldwork and interview materials. -National leaders usually influence the masses' attitudes toward the contemporary social problems of the nation by historical discourses. By anthropological methodology, our thesis focuses on describing and investigating the role of political power in establishing contemporary Vietnam historical discourses.
